I am drawn to exploring portraiture and the figure in my work because I find people so naturally interesting. I am intrigued by how people think, how they dream, and our individual and collective experiences. I am drawn to the similarities, differences and stories among us.
Upon my travels and daily interactions, I am often drawn to people’s faces. I aim to capture an interesting expression or gesture in my work reflecting some thought, or feeling we can all relate to. I search for that something that allows us to peak into someone’s soul and pause for a moment. To me the expressions and gestures that people make are an art within itself, which have many meanings.
